Rules and Regulation

Competition: Footloose (Solo Dance Competition) – Grand Finale Location: Main Stage, Sangeetam 2026

1. Finalist Confirmation

  • Confirmation Fee: Selected finalists must pay a Confirmation Fee of Rs. 350 to secure their stage slot.
  • Deadline: Payment must be made within 48 hours of result announcement, otherwise the slot moves to the waitlist.

2. On-Stage Rules & Timing

  • Reporting Time: Participants must report backstage 60 minutes prior to their slot for tagging.
  • Performance Duration: Minimum 3 minutes, Maximum 5 minutes.
    • Note: Time includes entry, performance, and exit.
  • Penalty: Exceeding time limits will result in point deduction (-5 points per 30 seconds).

3. Technical Guidelines (Music & Visuals)

  • Audio Submission: High-quality MP3 track must be submitted via email 72 hours prior to the finale.
  • Backup Mandatory: Participants must carry a backup of the track on a USB Drive (Pen Drive) on event day.
  • Screen Video: If the participant requires specific background visuals (LED Wall), the video file (MP4) must be submitted 72 hours prior. If not provided, a generic logo background will be used.

4. Props & Setup

  • Allowed: Handheld props (hats, canes, ribbons, chairs, etc.).
  • Prohibited: Fire, water, powder, glitter, confetti, or heavy objects that require stage construction.
  • Setup: Participant is responsible for placing and clearing props within the time limit.

5. Judging Criteria (100 Points)

  • Choreography & Creativity
  • Technique & Skill
  • Expressions & Energy
  • Stage Utilization
  • Overall Impact

The final divide up and if any changes will be informed to you 72 hours before the competition.

6. Conduct & Discipline

  • Maintain professionalism and respect toward judges, staff, and other participants
  • No indecent behavior or misconduct
  • Any violation of rules may result in disqualification
  • Arguments with judges or organizers are not permitted
  • Costumes appropriate for a university setting are mandatory. Arguments with judges result in disqualification.

7. Results & Prizes

  • Results will be announced after final evaluation
  • Prizes are non-transferable
  • Judges’ score sheets will not be disclosed
  • Winner and Runner-Up will receive Cash Prizes, Certificates, and Trophies.

8. Organizer Rights

  • Organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule or disqualify participants for misconduct.
  • Submitted designs may be used by Sangeetam for promotional purposes with credit to the creator.
